Northwest Louisiana Pro Bono Project's new website debuts . . .

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
If You Are Looking For Free Legal Assistance

Intake Interviews are done BY TELEPHONE. You must call the Pro Bono Project during Intake Hours to be screened for eligibility. Please do not come to our office without an appointment, because we may not be available to meet with you right then.

We are not able to offer emergency assistance with legal matters.

The Pro Bono Project is a referral service which matches very-low-income clients with volunteer attorneys in private practice in the Caddo-Bossier area. We cannot give you legal advice, and we do not have attorneys on staff.

We accept cases in Caddo and Bossier Parishes ONLY.

The Pro Bono Project does not accept criminal cases of any kind.

Welcome to Our New Website, NWLAPROBONO.NET

Here you'll find information about the Pro Bono Project, eligibility for free legal assistance and how to apply, and links to other community resources.

Over the next few weeks we'll be adding general information for the public on topics such as renters' rights, family law issues, living wills, oil and gas leasing, and more.

In the coming months, the site will expand to include a special section with resources and articles of interest for attorneys and other legal professionals. Our "attorneys only" section will feature a listing of cases awaiting referral, to allow our volunteer attorneys to select cases based on their specialties and areas of interest. Posted cases will be numerically coded for client privacy and confidentiality, and accessible only to registered members of the Bar.

Our goal is to use available internet technology to streamline the referral process, increase the number of cases we're able to refer, and raise awareness about the Northwest Louisiana Pro Bono Project.

Pro Bono Attorneys Hold The Key To Justice

To our extraordinary volunteer attorneys, we extend our most sincere and heartfelt appreciation. Without you, there would be no Pro Bono Project, and no equal access to justice for the many low-income persons in our community who cannot afford legal consultation or representation.

It is your commitment to providing access to the legal system for low-income citizens of our Shreveport-Bossier community, which exemplifies the spirit of the phrase “justice for all.”

Become A Pro Bono Project Volunteer Attorney

Legal aid programs across the country have received serious budget cuts in recent years, and as a result are unable to serve the numbers of needy clients they previously served. Now more than ever, there's a pressing need for individual volunteer attorneys and law firm pro bono involvement in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

If you're a licensed attorney admitted to practice before the courts of Caddo and Bossier Parishes, and you are not already a Northwest Louisiana Pro Bono Project volunteer, please consider becoming one today.
